EUGENE, Ore. -- The Oregon Ducks crushed the Colorado Buffaloes 42-6 on Saturday in a game that was never really in doubt. https://bit.ly/3ZEtk2k The Ducks outgained the Buffaloes 518 yards to 194 and had 30 first downs to the Buffaloes' 13.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning said after the game that he was glad his team was able to "send a message" to the rest of the college football world.

"We were prepared for a battle, it didn't end up being a battle," Lanning said. "I'm glad we got to put Oregon in the light it deserves to be in."



The Ducks got off to a fast start, scoring 21 points in the first quarter. They added another 14 points in the second quarter to take a 35-0 lead into halftime.

The Ducks' defense was dominant all afternoon, holding the Buffaloes to just 56 passing yards and minus-35 rushing yards in the first half.

The Buffaloes finally got on the board in the third quarter with a field goal, but the Ducks responded with a touchdown to go up 42-3.

The Ducks took their foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter, but they still had more than enough offense to secure the victory.

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix had a solid game, completing 18 of 26 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 53 yards.



Oregon running back Byron Cardwell had a big day on the ground, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown.

The Ducks' defense was led by linebacker Noah Sewell, who had 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
